Acquisition brings NextGen Practice Solutions additional resources for addressing increased market demand for revenue cycle services.

IRVINE, California--Quality Systems has announced the acquisition of Matrix Management Solutions to support the growth of NextGen Practice Solutions offering.

Since 1998, North Canton, Ohio-based Matrix Management Solutions, a reseller for NextGen Healthcare, has provided revenue cycle management services, health-care IT solutions and training, implementation, and support centered around NextGen technology to clients nationwide.

The acquisition will enable NextGen Practice Solutions to expand its footprint among private and hospital-based physicians and groups by leveraging Matrix’s RCM expertise. NextGen Practice Solutions partners with more than 5,000 providers to optimize use of the NextGen product suite with best practice, customizable revenue cycle management services including, but not limited to, billing and collection services, eligibility verification services, account management, and data analytics.

Upon completion of the acquisition--which closed April 16, 2012--Sharon Funk, chief operating officer at Matrix Healthcare, will assume the role of vice president and general manager at NextGen Healthcare’s North Canton facility. Matrix Management Solutions president Mark Terpylak, MD, will remain with the company to provide ongoing support to the customer base and serve in a strategic consulting role around health-care transformation.
