OXNARD, CALIF. — DUX Dental will kick-off its fourth-annual “Bib-Eze™ for Boob-Eze” campaign to benefit the fight against breast cancer at the California Dental Association (CDA) convention in Anaheim, Calif. During this year’s Bib-Eze for Boob-Eze program, which runs from May 1 to Oct. 31, dental offices are invited to send their used bib chains and holders to DUX Dental in exchange for a free box of Bib-Eze™ disposable bib holders. For every used bib holder received, DUX Dental will donate $5 to a breast cancer cause. DUX Dental will be collecting used bib chains and holders at booth No. 1216 at the CDA convention May 3 to 5.“DUX Dental encourages dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists to ‘care as you cover’ by offering patients a choice of aseptic bib holders," says Paul Porteous, CEO and President of DUX Dental. "With the Bib-Eze for Boob-Eze campaign, we show our appreciation of dental professionals by making charitable donations in their honor. This year our goal is to donate $5,000 to breast cancer causes, so we invite everyone in the dental community to participate,” There are two easy ways for dental professionals to participate in the Bib-Eze for Boob-Eze fundraising effort. Professionals can visit www.bibezeforboobeze.com to register their pledge and download the participation form and instructions. They can also visit DUX Dental at one of its upcoming events to drop off used bib chains. For each used bib holder received, DUX Dental will provide the dental office with a free 250-count box of Bib-Eze disposal bib holders and a charitable donation to a breast cancer cause. The company will announce the recipient organization in the coming weeks.During the last three years, DUX Dental has donated thousands of dollars to fight breast cancer. The Bib-Eze for Boob-Eze campaign will culminate in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness, when DUX Dental will donate the proceeds from the fundraiser. Peggy Lee, a registered dental hygienist for the last 32 year, participated in last year’s Bib-Eze for Boob-Eze program and expressed appreciation for DUX’s support of breast cancer causes.“As a 12-year breast cancer survivor I’m always appreciative of the public’s support of breast cancer research and treatment," she said. "It’s even more special when a member of the dental community – and one as respected as DUX Dental – devotes their time and resources to ensure breast cancer causes remain a priority and receive continual support.” Made from lightweight, elasticized fiber, Bib-Eze bib holders are more comfortable for patients since they are not cold on the neck, have no sharp edges and stretch to fit. Self-adhesive ends secure the one-time-use holder to any bib and are easy to remove for disposal. The aseptic nature of the Bib-Eze holders upholds the sterile dental environment and gives the dental patient peace of mind. In a survey of 600 dental professionals conducted by DUX Dental, 54% of the practitioners said they would switch to a disposable bib holder for their patients’ safety and comfort.A study by Noel Kelsch, RDHAP, a national infection control columnist and former president of the California Dental Hygienists’ Association, found that on average dental bib chains had five times the levels of viable bacteria and fungus than the limit established by the EPA for safe drinking water (500 CFU/mL). Disposable clips and holders opened fresh for each patient were free from contaminants and posed no cross-contamination threats.
