LIVINGSTON, New Jersey--Milestone Scientific, a leader in advanced, computer-controlled injection technologies, has announced the appointment of Marvin Terrell as director of domestic distribution.

In this newly created position, Terrell is responsible for facets of domestic distribution and marketing of Milestone’s dental products in the United States and Canada.

“With an aim towards optimizing penetration of the domestic dental market, given Milestone’s performance thus far in 2010, we now can establish a dedicated in-house resource capable of developing our domestic and Canadian markets,” stated Leonard Osser, Milestone’s chief executive officer.

“In this regard, we have spent considerable time and effort to identify someone with the right blend of ambition, skill and industry experience necessary to man this new post and manage our marketing, sales and training efforts. Marvin certainly meets all of our criteria and is expected to play an important role in Milestone’s future success," he added.

Prior to joining the company, Terrell served as North American director of sales for OralCDx Laboratories, a division of Oral Cancer Prevention International, where he conceptualized and implemented sales and marketing strategies focused on increasing global market penetration for the BrushTest--a method that dentists use to detect oral cancer.

While serving as vice president of sales and new business development for Professional Dental Technologies, he managed day-to-day sales and business development activities for the company’s dental division, representing more than $40 million in annual sales.

Previous senior management posts also included manager, national accounts, nedical division at HPSC, and director of national accounts and medical business development at Old Kent Bank Leasing. At Old Kent, he dealt primarily with international companies with market capitalizations more than $1 billion.

Early in his 25-year career, he worked at Wells Fargo, initially serving as director of operations of the company’s Orlando, Fla., business unit followed by being corporate retail marketing manager at its consumer division in Des Moines, Iowa; and later director of national accounts, leasing and revolving sales at Wells Fargo Leasing in O’Fallon, Mo.

Terrell is a graduate of Valdosta State University, where he received a bachelor of fine arts degree in communications and marketing.
