AAP elects McClain

Pamela McClain, DDS, of Aurora, Colo., has been installed as President Elect of the American Academy of Periodontology Board of Trustees.
CHICAGO, Illinois--Pamela McClain, DDS, of Aurora, Colo., was installed as President Elect of the American Academy of Periodontology Board of Trustees Oct. 29-Nov. 2, 2010, during the 96th annual meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.Dr. McClain began her dental career as a dental hygienist. She now maintains a full-time private periodontal practice in Aurora, and also holds an appointment as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.An AAP member since 1985, Dr. McClain previously served as the Board of Trustees vice president in 2010 and secretary/teasurer in 2009. She has also been active on a variety of academy committees, including the Finance Committee, the Continuing Education Oversight Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and the Annual Meeting Committee. Dr. McClain has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1992.“Dr. McClain has already stood out as an invaluable member of the AAP Board of Trustees," said Dr. Donald Clem, 2011 AAP president. "Her insights into periodontal practice and the importance of collaborative periodontal care have helped to steer the strategic direction of the AAP in 2011.
