Midmark acquires Newmed

Acquisition of European tabletop sterilizer manufacturer will help increase Midmark’s geographic reach and enhance patient care.

VERSAILLES, Ohio, and QUATTRO CASTELLA, Italy--Midmark Corporation has announced entering into an agreement to acquire Newmed, S.r.L., a manufacturer of tabletop sterilization products and accessories for the medical, dental and animal health markets.

Based in the region of Reggio Emilia, Italy, Newmed is a six-year old company that has quickly established itself as a manufacturer of sterilizers.

“Midmark’s desire is to be a global leader in the markets we serve,” said Anne Eiting Klamar, president and CEO of Midmark. “With this alliance, Newmed and Midmark will create a portfolio of instrument processing technology that will bring efficiency and quality to health-care environments around the world.”

Newmed designs and manufactures a variety of Class-B, Class-S, and Class-N autoclave sterilizers. The company’s products are sold throughout Europe and the Middle East, primarily to private dental offices and dental clinics.

Guido Chierici, Corrado Caiti, and Luca Campani, founders and principles of Newmed, will remain with Midmark in similar leadership positions. Newmed employs approximately 30 people in Quattro Castella, Italy.
