BOSTON — "Your Dental Connection" is the theme of the 36th annual Yankee Dental Congress (YDC), New England’s largest dental meeting, which will be held Jan. 26 through 30 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC).

YDC is the fifth largest dental meeting in the country and is sponsored by the Massachusetts Dental Society, in cooperation with the Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont dental associations. The close to 27,000 dental professionals who are expected to attend the convention in Boston will not only discover YDC 36 to be educational, fun, and informative, but also filled with entertaining events, top-notch speakers, and many classes.

More than 300 educational courses for dental professionals will be offered. These include a program designed especially for the dental auxiliaries. The Team Development Day will build clinical knowledge and strengthen team relationships on Jan. 27. Start off the morning with Lois Banta and learn the “Anatomy of a Winning Team.”

Enjoy lunch with your team while learning the importance of oral systemic health as it relates to dentistry with JoAnn Ward Gurenlian, PhD. In the afternoon, join your peers in the various breakout sessions geared to your area of expertise. Reconnect in the afternoon with Debbie Castagna and Virginia Moore for a staff huddle.

Also on Jan. 27, Gordon Christensen, DDS, is back by popular demand. Along with Paul Child, DMD, Dr. Christenson will share the latest in restorative dentistry, fixed prosthodontics, and “New Aspects of Dentistry.”

Yankee’s Annual Women’s Conference, which consistently sells out, is back for its sixth year on Jan. 29. Theresa Gonzales, DMD, will bring the latest in clinical education for the treatment of your patients. In the afternoon program, Linda Miles, CSP, will teach techniques for “Women Working with Women.” Finish the day networking and unwinding with the Women’s Leadership Task Force at a wine and cheese reception.

New at Yankee this year is the Dental Office Design Pavilion. If you’re thinking about building a new office, opening a second office, or starting a new practice, you won’t want to miss the Dental Office Design Pavilion, a source for ideas, displays, and information on designing your dental office. In addition, Yankee’s High Tech Playground on the show floor allows you to get an up-close look at high-tech products available for your practice. Take advantage of this relaxed setting to try out various tools and state-of-the-art gadgets and ask questions.

Great entertainment will also be a major focus of YDC 36. On Thursday evening, experience the excitement of Mardi Gras. Yankee brings the fun and flavors of this world class party with attractions, games, giveaways, surprises, music, and all the fun of the fair at Yankee’s Fat Thursday Carnival. On Friday, enjoy cocktails and fashion advice with fashion consultant and media personality Clinton Kelly, star of TLC’s top-rated show, "What Not to Wear." That evening, come see the The Fab Four, the No. 1 Beatles tribute band.

YDC 36 features more than 450 exhibitors, admission to free courses, alumni events, and computerized continuing education record keeping at the CE Pavilion.
