Mildred Goldstein, a pioneer in the dental industry, passes away.

Mildred “Milly” Goldstein, the first woman to chair the board of directors at the Dental Trade Association (DTA) and former president of the Harry J. Bosworth Company, passed away this week.

She and her husband, Herbert Pozen, were very active in the dental industry’s primary trade association. Goldstein chaired the DTA in 2002. She also served as the president of the International Dental Manufacturers Association during her long career.

In February 2017, Oral Health America honored Goldstein with the organization’s Tribute Award, which recognizes leaders who influence oral health access during a career.

Beth Truett, president and CEO for Oral Health America, said during the award’s announcement that Goldstein’s “loyalty to Oral Health America’s mission and work as a board member and her commitment to the dental industry are exemplified in everything she has accomplished. Ms. Goldstein changed the landscape of the industry as the first female president of a dental company. She was also dedicated to the field as chair of many organizations, including having the honor of serving as the first female chair of the American Dental Trade Association.”

Her funeral will be hosted at Chapel Heights Memorial Park in Arlington Heights, Ill. On Dec. 26.
