Dentists' Climb for a Cause slated for 12th straight year

Nov. 24, 2008
Climb to take place Sept. 6, 2009, in California's Yosemite Valley.

Dental professionals, staff, industry participants, and media from across the country will assemble Sept. 6, 2009, in California's Yosemite Valley to attempt a one-day ascent/descent of Half Dome via the cable route.

While not a technically difficult climb, the 16-mile round trip makes it a formidable one-day challenge.

Funds raised from this effort will be used to Support the DCFAC dental education and treatment projects in Guatemala and Cambodia, as well as other domestic oral-health causes.

It is DCFAC's goal to provide preventive and restorative dental care and education to underserved citizens. To meet this challenge, DCFAC hopes to raise in excess of $100,000 this year.

Members of this year's team will receive:

* A customized training schedule
* Cause-related event marketing support, compliments of American Dental Marketing
* Special gifts to all participants
* Prizes worth thousands of dollars to practices raising the most funds, courtesy of event sponsors

The climb is an opportunity to help deliver needed care and education to underserved citizens of Cambodia and Guatemala, as well as oral cancer research.
