Sirona Dental Systems' My Best inLab Case winners announced
LONG ISLAND CITY, New York--Sirona Dental Systems, LLC, a pioneer in digital dentistry more than 20 years ago and producer of dental CAD/CAM systems, has announced winners of its "My Best Sirona inLab Case" contest.
Exclusive to all inLab owners, participants were asked to submit their best inLab case. Prizes were awarded to the top three winners.
Because Sirona could not obtain the actual cases, appropriate documentation of each case played a large part in the overall judging process, including analysis of preoperative and postoperative pictures. Submissions were judged based on: scan quality, esthetics, function, technique, and efficiencies.
All three winners submitted complete cases with superior documentation, preop, and postop photos.
The panel of judges for the contest consisted of dentists and laboratory technicians.
The top winners of the contest will receive a Zero Gravity Weightless Experience. They will float like astronauts aboard a specially-configured "G-Force One" Boeing 727-200 airplane as it levels out at 28,000 feet and spends 90 minutes experiencing the same kind of parabolic flight used by NASA to train astronauts for zero gravity in space.
* 1st Place: Tim Evart, CDT of Digital Ceramics Dental Laboratory in Orangevale, Calif., and Dr. Nancy Huber of Carmichael, Calif. Evart's winning case featured replacement of teeth Nos. 8 and 9 with two new esthetic inLab crowns made from IPS e.max CAD LT blocks with IPS e.max Ceram build-up, as well as documentation throughout the process.
* 2nd Place: Tom Heath, CDT of Signature Dental Technologies in Black Forest, Colo., and Dr. Adam Liberman of Littleton, Colo., based largely on the category of esthetics. Moreover, documentation of the postoperative case exemplified a restorative option.
* 3rd Place: Tray Evans, CDT of EvaDent Esthetics, Inc., located in Buford, Ga., and Dr. Sally Evans of Gainesville, Ga., were honored for their case submission of two esthetic three-unit anterior bridge frameworks (teeth Nos. 6-8 and 9-11) made from inCoris ZI (ZrO2).
Winners also have the chance to have their cases published in a leading industry publication.
"The 'My Best Sirona inLab Case' contest was a great success for Sirona," said Norbert Ulmer, director of dental laboratory applications for Sirona Dental Systems. "We received a number of inLab cases that were truly remarkable. Each and every submission had a professional quality, and the presentation and documentation of the cases were extremely noteworthy."
