HOYA ConBio partners with LVI Global on educational agreement

FREMONT, California--HOYA ConBio, a leader in dental and aesthetic lasers, has announced an agreement with The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, a leader in post-graduate dental education.

With the agreement, VersaWave and DioDent Micro 980 lasers will be utilized at LVI's state-of-the-art teaching facility through 2009. The educational alliance is the latest development in HOYA ConBio's corporate outreach to partner with pioneers in dental continuing education.

"In the past, we've selected LVI as the host site for our HOYA ConBio College for laser dentistry training," said Timothy S. Gehlmann, president & CEO, HOYA ConBio. "This agreement takes our relationship to a new level and we are excited to move forward with comprehensive laser course offerings, providing a complete portfolio of products to achieve superior clinical results."

HOYA ConBio's VersaWave and DioDent Micro 980 dental lasers will be placed at LVI's 62,000 square-foot facility, which features two, 10-operatory teaching clinics, a 60-bench hands-on workshop and six lecture halls.

According to William G. Dickerson, DDS, LVI Global's founder and CEO, practicing dentists worldwide visit LVI to advance their education, knowledge and expertise in aesthetic, neuromuscular, occlusal, restorative and reconstruction dentistry.

The VersaWave Erbium hard-tissue laser is used for state-of-the-art instruction in soft tissue smile design, smile lift procedures, frenectomies and hard tissue application in closed flap, open flap and pre-prosthetic surgical procedures.

The DioDent Micro 980 is a next-generation diode laser for use in a wide variety of procedures, including excisional and incisional biopsies, fibroma removal, gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, oral papillectomies and sulcular debridement.
