Free 2009 medical emergency membership available

March 27, 2009
Membership from Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness will allow dentists and their staffs to practice, prepare and train during the year.

In 2009, the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness is giving back to the dental profession with a free 2009 medical emergency membership.

The recent $8.5 million settlement in the death of Georgette Watson in Chicago, Ill., illustrates the importance of being prepared for a medical emergency so one can respond quickly and effectively in a crisis situation.

Being prepared for a medical emergency does not guarantee that a dentist won't have a bad outcome but it can increase a patient's chance of survival.

The mission of the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness (IMEP) is to become the universal standard for meeting every-day medical emergencies in dental offices in the United States.

IMEP would like to work with dentists in spreading the word of its medical emergency membership. Please share this e-mail with your readers.

The IMEP is committed to do its part for the dental profession. The medical emergency membership from IMEP will allow dentists and their staffs to practice, prepare and train during the year only on medical emergencies and never leave the office. IMPEP offers dentists a structured, organized plan that will assist them in planning and initiating monthly medical emergency mock drills, as well as providing medical emergency specialty tests.
