Course to teach dentists, specialists technical and managerial skills

    Dawson Academy to offer "Comprehensive Examination and Records" course.

    ST. PETERSBURG, Florida--The Dawson Academy will offer a hands-on course that teaches dentists and specialists how to educate patients during examinations and how to recognize flaws in smiles.

    The 2.5-day course, Comprehensive Examination and Records, will be given by John C. Crahman, DDS, or Glenn E. DuPont, DDS. The course will take place on the following dates and locations:

    May 4-6, 2009 (Dawson Academy, St. Petersburg, Fla.)
    May 14-16, 2009 (Traverse City, Mich.)
    Sept. 17-19, 2009 (Mid-Atlantic Center, Chesapeake, Va.)
    Oct. 12-14, 2009 (Dawson Academy, St. Petersburg, Fla.)
    Nov. 2-4, 2009 (Dawson Academy, St. Petersburg, Fla.)
    Nov. 19-21 2009 (Mid-Atlantic Center, Chesapeake, Va.)

    Tuition is $3,400 per student, and the course is limited to 20 students. Students completing the course will receive a total of 20 continuing education credits.

    The lecture falls under the Dawson Academy's core curriculum. To ensure students get the most from this course, it is strongly suggested they first complete either of the academy's introductory seminars — "Functional Occlusion – From TMJ to Smile Design" and/or "Achieving Predictable Esthetic Results."

    About the course
    This hands-on program will provide the participant with the technical and managerial skills to institute a comprehensive examination process into his or her practice. Procedural skills will be covered, as well as tips on training the staff on the parts of the evaluation process that can be delegated.

    Complete examinations, and accompanying records, are the cornerstone of the Dawson philosophy. Esthetic, functional, biological and structural issues will be addressed in this process. Special emphasis will be placed on scheduling and implementing the complete examination/records appointment into a busy general practice.
