Company celebrates three decades of orthodontic continuing education
CARLSBAD, California--Straight Wire Seminars, Inc., a provider of orthodontic continuing education programs, celebrates its 30th anniversary in January 2009.
The continuing education provider will commemorate this milestone by offering a wide array of courses and by launching an interactive new Web site. The courses, co-sponsored by Ortho Organizers Inc., are targeted for general practitioners looking to integrate orthodontics into their practice, as well as doctors who have been performing orthodontics for years.
Courses for assistants and office staff are also offered. Through hands-on demonstrations and lecture, many subjects such as case selection, diagnosis, treatment planning and mechanics, contemporary orthodontic techniques, and the importance of early treatment are taught.
Founded in 1979 by Dr. Waldemar Brehm, a pioneer in the straight wire appliance and technique, Straight Wire Seminars has presented hundreds of courses to thousands of doctors. Dr. Leonard Carapezza, a noted worldwide author and Tufts University associate professor specializing in pedodontics and early treatment, began his career in orthodontics when he studied under Dr. Brehm in the 70s.
Dr. Carapezza noted, "Straight Wire Seminars provides for a critical need in the dental profession. There is a lack of orthodontic information taught for the general practitioner and pedodontist at the university level today. By providing first rate instructors and supporting them with logistical needs Straight Wire Seminars makes high quality continuing education possible across the nation for general practitioners."
