Greater New York Dental Meeting installs new general chairman
The Greater New York Dental Meeting has announced that Dr. John R. Halikias has been elected general chairman for 2010 and 2011.
Dr. Halikias was elected unanimously elected by the GNYDM's organization committee. He will lead the organization in its effort to continue the GNYDM's mission of fostering lifelong learning for dental professionals and providing sales opportunities for the dental industry.
Dr. Halikias has served the organization for more than 25 years. In addition, he was president of the Second District Dental Society, one of the sponsors of the meeting.
Dr. Halikias earned his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1985. He is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, American College of Dentistry, Hellenic Dental Society, and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Halikias practices general dentistry with his father, Dr. Robert Halikias, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The GNYDM continues to attract more than 57,000 attendees, including 17, 000 dentists from all 50 U.S. states and 118 countries.
