Chris Klamet will launch Guidor oral rehabilitation product line.

CHICAGO, Illinois--Sunstar, a leader in the mouth and body care, health and beauty care, environment and amenity, and safety support and high technology fields, has added Chris Klamet as the company's business development and marketing director in the Guidor Project.

In this role, Klamet will help develop the strategy around the introduction of the Guidor Project, a portfolio of products dedicated to the regeneration of oral tissue and bone substitution.

"We're thrilled to have Chris on board for the launch of the Guidor Project," said Kent Fletcher, vice president, professional and public relations and Guidor project executive. "With his extensive background in medical devices and sales, we're confident this will be a successful endeavor."

Klamet's career spans more than 20 years in the medical products industry, having most recently served as sales director for the Eastern Region for Medtronic and prior to that, chief operating officer of Denx Navigation systems. Klamet also held a number of executive level assignments at Straumann, including regional manager, area director, national sales manager, and senior vice president of sales.

Klamet was instrumental in Straumann's growth strategy, including the company's expansion into the U.S. market. Klamet also held the title of senior sales manager with 3M Surgical in northern and central Ohio, overseeing sales of disposable products and internal stapling lines in hospital operating rooms and surgical centers.

The first available product in the Guidor line, the Guidor Membrane, is a bioresorbable membrane used in both hard and soft periodontal tissue regeneration. Launching in September 2009, the Guidor family of products will be available to periodontal surgeons, oral surgeons and oral implantologists.
