New ceramic blocks will complement the selection currently available from Sirona.

LONG ISLAND, New York--Sirona Dental Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-technology dental equipment, has developed its own range of millable ceramic blocks for the Sirona CAD/CAM systems CEREC and inLab.

The feldspath ceramics for chairside restorations are available to customers as CEREC Blocs. Sirona's inCoris product line for dental labs will be expanded to include aluminum and zirconium oxide blocks. The new ceramics assortment will complement the current selection available from Sirona's partners including VITA, Ivoclar Vivadent and 3M ESPE for the CEREC and inLab CAD/CAM systems.

Sirona developed the new ceramic blocks together with well-known material manufacturers including the Company's long-term partner VITA.

"As the market leader for dental CAD/CAM systems, we are responding to the demand of many customers who wish to obtain all of their components from a single source. Of course, we will continue our intensive and successful cooperation with our materials partners in the future to further increase acceptance of restorations produced using CAD/CAM systems", said Jost Fischer, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sirona Dental Systems, Inc.

CEREC Blocs offer a unique new feature. A universal CEREC color system was developed for the blocks which combines the simplicity of the classical Vita shade guide with the color diversity of Vita's 3D-Master system. It contains 12 monochromatic and three polychromatic blocks in varying shades and translucencies.

CEREC Blocs are indicated for the CEREC/inLab CAD/CAM production of inlays, onlays, partial crowns, full crowns, endocrowns on molars, and veneers.
