ELMSFORD, New York--AFP Imaging Corporation, the parent company to Dent-X, has announced that Marc Thacher has been named director of marketing and sales, effective Jan. 4, 2010.
Thacher is a past employee who founded a technology dealership and represented Dent-X and AFP Imaging in its West Coast market and has been associated with Dent-X for eight years.
Thacher helped conduct the initial launch of Dent-X's current technology products, including the EVA digital X-raysensor. He then left Dent-X to open a dental dealership that focused exclusively on selling, installing, training, and supporting dental technologies and computer networks in dental offices.
Most recently, as a representative for Dent-X and other manufacturers, he was the company's highest-producing representative.
R. Scott Jones, AFP's chairman, commented: "Marc is highly respected within the dental industry and has proven himself consistently in a number of roles with the company over the years. We look forward to him applying his energy and skills to take the division to a new level of excellence."
"AFP Imaging and Dent-X have the vision, leadership, and innovative product portfolio to rapidly grow its core imaging businesses," said Thacher. "Dent-X is poised to expand on its offering of digital imaging products. I'm excited about the opportunity to participate in Dent-X's continued track record of success."
Thacher holds a dual degree in marketing and computer information systems from Tulane University's A. B. Freeman School of Business. He has experience working in manufacturing, representing manufacturers, and selling as a retail dealer.
