CHICAGO, Illinois--The Hispanic Dental Association and the DentaQuest Foundation have announced a new partnership designed to support the development of leaders within its membership who will define the future of the Hispanic Dental Association.
The funding will allow the HDA to cultivate the input of similar national associations with comparable goals and/or target populations. In order to increase collaborations and change perceptions of oral health among Hispanics and Latinos, the HDA will engage its leadership across the nation in designing ways to address the current disparities.
"We are thrilled to partner with the DentaQuest Foundation and we have immediately begun to strategically plan for the future of the Hispanic Dental Association," said Dr. C. Yolanda Bonta, HDA executive director.
The HDA Board of Trustees, along with association staff and volunteer leaders, gathered Feb. 27, 2010, in Chicago under the direction of Strategic Facilitator Mary Byers, CAE.
After a two-day "meeting of the minds," the 2010 Strategic Plan for the HDA was defined. This plan will be available in the near future on the HDA Web site.
