CHICAGO, Illinois--Climb For A Cause, a nonprofit dental charity, has announced its 13th annual fundraising event will take place Sept. 5, 2010, in the Three Sisters Region near Bend, Ore.
Dental professionals including clinicians, office staff, dental manufacturers and consultants, and media from across the nation will assemble to pledge their support for volunteer dentistry. They will participate in one or more events that comprise the Climb For A Cause event weekend.
Official events include: rock climbing at Smith Rock, caving, whitewater rafting/kayaking, and a summit attempt of the Middle Sister (elevation 10,000 feet).
Funds raised from this year's events will support the CFAC dental education and treatment projects in Guatemala and Nepal. Part of CFAC's proceeds may also be allocated to other domestic oral health causes.
"Our goal for 2010 is to adequately enlist and equip local and visiting dental professionals and volunteers to provide preventive and restorative dental care and education to the underserved citizens of Guatemala, Nepal and, of course, the United States," said Daniel A. Bobrow, CFAC's executive director. "To meet this challenge, our goal is to raise in excess of $100,000 and attract 50 participants."
"No prior experience or skill level is required, just a desire to give back. So we're encouraging all people, regardless of age or experience, to participate in this rewarding experience, which is philanthropic dentistry at its most exciting," added Bobrow.
CFAC is currently seeking participation and sponsorship from dental practices, consultants, manufacturers, and other members of the profession.
Participants in this year's CFAC events receive:
* A customized training schedule and "one-on-one" coaching
* Cause-related event marketing support, compliments of American Dental Marketing
* Special gifts
This is a singular opportunity to support domestic oral health initiatives.
