LONG ISLAND CITY, New York--Sirona Dental Systems, Inc., one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-technology dental equipment, has announced the availability of its new SIROLUX F HELIODENT DS Combination Light and X-ray system.

By combining the features and functionality of its award-winning HELIODENT DS intraoral X-ray unit and its SIROLUX F Operating Light into one unit, Sirona now offers practitioners a single, space-saving system for digital X-ray image acquisitions at low radiation levels and optimal illumination of the oral cavity. The SIROLUX F HELIODENT DS Combination mounts conveniently to the operatory ceiling.

The SIROLUX F Operating Light boasts a high-performance, fan-cooled bulb to ensure illumination at a color temperature of 5,500 Kelvin, almost indistinguishable from natural daylight. This ensures color-neutral illumination of the treatment area providing greater accuracy when matching composite shades and more precise positioning.

Features include: removable (autoclavable) handles, motion sensor activation of main power, a balanced horizontal light pattern, dual intensity settings and tension controlled rotation for accurate positioning without drifting. Dentists can trust the SIROLUX F to continue providing true, constant illumination throughout a procedure.

The HELIODENT DS is a compact, ultra-light Intraoral X-ray unit for film-based or digital exposures. Using 60kV multipulse technology, HELIODENT DS delivers high detail resolution, maximum contrast and excellent definition with minimum radiation dose.

The radiation dose can be reduced up to 90 percent with digital exposures. Positioning is quick and stable with the flexible, vibration-damped support arm which is available in 3 lengths. The multifunctional control knob with clearly recognizable tooth icons and digital display for exposure times assures fast and easy operation.

"This exceptional combination of operatory lighting and imaging technology will save practitioners significant operatory space and treatment time," said Andrew McIlveen, marketing manager–treatment centers, for Sirona USA.

"This is just another example of Sirona's ultimate goal to increase operational efficiency for the practitioner, while also simplifying and organizing the operatory. We believe that providing the best possible treatment does not require more space, but rather the most advanced and integrated functionality."
