Winner of 2007 BreathRx Hygienist of the Year Award announced

CULVER CITY, California--Discus Dental, LLC, a leading direct manufacturer and marketer of professional and consumer dental products, has announced Arvie Malik of Newport Beach, Calif., is winner of the 2007 BreathRx Hygienist of the Year Award.

As Hygienist of the Year, Malik will receive a $5,000 cash prize and one year's supply of the BreathRx Fresh Breath System products. Additionally, as national spokesperson for the dental hygiene profession, Malik will appear in a national BreathRx commercial.

The BreathRx Hygienist of the Year Award seeks to recognize the "best of the best" in the hygiene industry. Through her academic and professional achievements, Malik has represented the best in her field. A graduate of Texas Women's University, not only does Malik work as a periodontal therapist, oral health educator and treatment coordinator at a private prosthodontic practice in Newport Beach, but she also manages its hygiene department.

She also serves as an instructor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at West Los Angeles College, and as a course director for dental hygiene at the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute. She was invited to speak at the upcoming 33rd Annual USC Periodontal & Implant Symposium about the impact of magnification on the future of dental hygiene therapies.
