METAIRIE, Louisiana--OrthoSynetics, a provider of business services to orthodontic and dental practices worldwide, has opened an emergency data center and colocation facility in Dallas.

The move is part of the company's efforts to strengthen its infrastructure to better serve its customers. The state-of-the-art facility will allow the company to continue operations on a day-to-day basis in case of emergency or natural disaster.

"With headquarters in the New Orleans area, our company knows full well the dangers and challenges that hurricanes and tropical storms pose to our company, our employees and our customers," said Chris Roussos, president and CEO of OrthoSynetics. "Our new data center will ensure that our company's and customers' data is safe in case of an emergency, that our customers' operations are not disrupted if a storm or other natural disaster strikes, and that our team has an alternate base of operations in case of such an emergency."

The new facility, which can be viewed via a virtual tour at www.colo4dallas.com, will ensure redundancies for all of OrthoSynetics' information technology functions, to ensure seamless operations in the even the corporate headquarters' operations are disrupted.

"If the corporate headquarters goes down for any period of time, our new data center ensures our IT functions are back up-and-running within a millionth of a second," said Tim Tiffin, chief information officer of OrthoSynetics. "Our primary goal is ensuring our doctors' practices are safe and secure."

In addition to the new data center and colocation facility, OrthoSynetics has developed a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan--primarily in the case of a hurricane, but that can be activated for any emergency.

The company continues to take steps to ensure all employees understand the plan, and are ready to take action. The company also has taken steps to assist its extended OrthoSynetics family around the Gulf Coast, if necessary.
