CHICAGO--Sirona Dental Systems, a leading producer of dental CAD/CAM systems, recently held an award ceremony at the Sheraton Java Bar during LMT Lab Day Chicago to celebrate the winners of the Sirona inLab Film Festival.
Exclusive to inLab owners, participants were asked to create and submit an original three-minute video to showcase How My inLab System Makes a Difference in My Business. Prizes were awarded and all entries received a free sleeve of Sirona inCoris ZI Blocs.
The top winner received a trip for two to New York City's Tribeca Film Festival and the second place winner received a Bose Lifestyle 28 DVD Home Entertainment System.
The first and second place winners were as follows:
* 1st Place: Randy Hicks, R&R Dental Laboratory located in Austin Texas, for his comedic demonstration of the substantial time saved as a result of owning the inLab unit.
* 2nd Place: Jerry Ragle, Ragle Dental Laboratory, Inc. located in Champaign Illinois, for his evolution-themed description of the new CAD-Waxx all-indication material from VITA, which substantially reduces the need for the traditionally labor-intensive wax-up process.
"The LMT Lab Day was a tremendous success for Sirona," remarked Norbert Ulmer, Director of Dental Laboratory Applications for Sirona Dental Systems. "We were very pleased and impressed with the quality of the films that were submitted. It seemed as though laboratory technicians really had fun making the films. They were all thoughtful, creative, and funny."
LMT's 23rd annual Lab Day in Chicago, the largest dental laboratory show in the country, drew a crowd of 3,166 to its Feb. 24 show at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers.
Exhibits presented by more than 185 manufacturers and suppliers, along with nearly 100 clinics, made for dental technology's busiest day of the year.
