Reward programs aren’t just for grocery stores anymore: iDental Rewards brings mobile rewards program to dental practices

With mobile patient engagement marketing, all of these scenarios are possible. iSmart Tag Mobile Rewards, from Level 7 Interactive, is a new interactive patient engagement marketing program that provides digital incentives to both new and existing patients, while offering dental practices the ability to track and measure patient engagement.
In other words, iSmart Tag Mobile Rewards is a new type of smartphone software for marketing your practice that allows you to give patients rewards for making referrals or for scheduling certain procedures. On top of that, the software allows you to monitor referrals, the popularity of rewards, and more to help you to strategize for practice growth.
I recently interviewed Jon Showers from Level 7 Interactive and Michael Ayes, DDS, to learn more about iSmart Tag Mobile Rewards and the software behind it. The software began as a donor engagement program for nonprofit organizations. Today, it's used by a variety of groups, including universities, alumni associations, and sports teams. To quote Showers, the software, with its entry into the dental industry, is a way to "put your practice in the palm of the patient's hand."
Here's how it works: To begin driving patient acquisition and encouraging patient retention with iSmart Tag Mobile Rewards, your dental office will order a supply of 1,000 tags, which resemble the mini keychain cards used for grocery store or gas station rewards. Each tag will have your office's logo printed on it. After communicating with the company about your practice's goals, you'll select the rewards you'd like to offer, which can be customized or chosen from a database of preexisting rewards. Then, you'll distribute the tags to patients, either in the office or through direct-mail marketing.
Patients, new and existing, will then register online or by using a smartphone to scan the QR code. After registering, patients will immediately become eligible for your practice's rewards, such as $100 off a whitening procedure or $50 in account credit for making a referral. But that's not all – they'll also become eligible for special offers from over 300,000 national and local brands.
Once your patients are registered, you'll be able to track the ways they engage with the app, monitor new-patient referrals and the popularity of rewards, and track your return on investment. With the analytics offered by the software, you'll have valuable information to make practical decisions about your strategies for practice growth. If you find that you're not satisfied with the success of a certain reward, you can change it and notify your patients of the new reward through a push notification to their smartphone.

The iSmart Tag Mobile Rewards software also offers a new way for you to communicate directly with your patients. Through the app, you can send appointment reminders, newsletters, and birthday club rewards, establishing loyalty to your office and increasing revenue, while saving valuable time.
Beyond offering strategies for patient acquisition, retention, and engagement, the software provides opportunities for incentivizing the dental team to get involved with pursuing the practice's revenue goals, as well as opportunities for companies that supply or manufacture dental products.
