By Kathy Bassett

Growing up, I was always self-conscious of my teeth. They were discolored, and no amount of brushing helped. As I got older and had children, my teeth began to decay. I hid my mouth when I laughed or smiled. I was too embarrassed for anyone to see my teeth.

Then I was referred to the Smiles for Success program, and I began to think for once in my life I would have a beautiful smile I was not ashamed of. I went to my first appointment not knowing what to expect. I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff, and Dr. Tamara Berg was amazing. We talked and they examined my teeth and we developed a plan. Within three weeks I had a smile to die for! I no longer hide my laugh or smile; I want everyone to see! My first grandbaby is due in a couple of months and I can’t wait, for I will have the biggest smile for all to see. My confidence and self-esteem are higher now than any other time in my life, and it is all because of an amazing program called Smiles for Success and the awesome dentists who are involved.
