Every second counts ...
It is easy to marvel at Lance Armstrong's five consecutive Tour de France wins.
It is easy to marvel at Lance Armstrong's five consecutive Tour de France wins. Although his recent ride was arduous, he knows that victory is incredible. Appreciated. He is strong in the climbs, protected in the flats, and fueled by a passion second to none. Most importantly, his inspiration speaks through him, making him a better man and insisting he strive toward the "highest and best use" of himself. To him, every second counts.
As your new editor, I am energized by the support of readers, contributors, and advertisers. With a new year at hand, WDJ is on the climb, expanding from six to 10 issues. Our inaugural ride was sound, but our return trip will bring more "nuts and bolts" to our readers. Not only are we going to showcase successful practices, but the how and why they got there. It will be a completed road map for you. We will provide ideas to support your dental team, increase endurance, and strike a balance. System checks and products that make doing dentistry easier will be the order. Positioning your practice with various branding and marketing methods will be displayed. And, along the way, expect to enjoy the people, the sights, and the sounds.
You see, it's a great time for a journey. It's a time for women dentists to wear the yellow jersey! Expect WDJ to help YOU break out of the pack!
The best part about Lance Armstrong is his ability to relate a message of hope, timing, and motivation. You see, every second does count, and watching the Tour emphasizes that importance. It's just like dentistry ... sharing a message with our patients, providing a timely diagnosis, and motivating them for treatment. Personally, it might be about better connection to your spouse, child, friend, team member, or parent. It's about being true to yourself.
Whatever your challenge for the new year, make yourself a promise that moments count in every stage. Use your gifts wisely, seek the necessary guidance to improve yourself dentally and personally, and stay the course.
Here's to a great ride!
