Dr. Ronald K. Murayama, DDS, an innovator in the oral care field as founder of Amden Corporation, was recently honored with Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Dr. Murayama was selected from among 35 nominees in the manufacturing/consume products category at Ernst & Young's 15th Annual Orange County/Inland Empire Entrepreneur of the Year awards ceremony. The award singles out entrepreneurs whose ingenuity, hard work, and perseverance have developed and sustained successful, growing business ventures. The winners are selected by an independent judging panel. All winners become lifetime members of the Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame.
"I am very honored to receive such recognition from my peers," Dr. Murayama said. "However, the real reward for me comes from being able to help improve our customers' oral health through the development of our products."
Innovation has always marked Dr. Murayama's approach to business. He launched the Cybersonic brand through a high-impact infomercial campaign featuring celebrity spokespersons such as Cheryl Tiegs and the late Robert Urich. The line is now available through retailers nationwide and tapping into a growing consumer trend toward upgraded home dental care has sparked Amden's phenomenal growth and success in the highly competitive oral care market.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award program was created and is produced by professional services firm Ernst & Young and sponsored nationally by USA Today, CNN, The Nasdaq Stock Market, and the Kaufman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
