IRVINE, California--Pacific Dental Services has announced that it has received the American Red Cross' Circle of Humanitarians plaque in recognition of their exceptional financial support during Hurricane Katrina.
The company raised over $100,000 for the disaster relief efforts. The Circle of Humanitarians plaque honors companies and individuals whose major annual contributions provide life-saving support through American Red Cross programs.
"We're honored to receive this national level of recognition on behalf of all of the PDS employees and affiliated dentists whose servant hearts made a difference," said Matt Hall, Director of Marketing.
"It was amazing how everyone in the PDS family responded so quickly to support the Red Cross in their overwhelming efforts to provide for the devastated regions. A central theme at PDS is 'We Serve."
PDS answered the call to Hurricane Katrina and stepped up by hanging donation awareness posters at all of their affiliated offices throughout California and Arizona.
They also put up notices, handed out flyers, constantly spread the word about helping the hurricane victims, and built relationships with others interested in helping collect donations. All in all, their "We Serve" determination prevailed when they exceeded their $100,000 donation goal.
"We are honored to present Pacific Dental Services and its employees with the Circle of Humanitarians award for their generous gift," said Kathleen Loehr, Interim Senior Vice President for Development at the American Red Cross.
"The Red Cross was able to turn their compassion into action after Hurricane Katrina ripped through the Gulf Coast, by providing food, shelter, counseling and other assistance to those who needed it most."
