Dental assistant sentenced to one year in jail for touching 15-year-old patient inappropriately

A male dental assistant was sentenced Wednesday to one year in jail for fondling a 15-year-old female patient in a Redwood City dental office, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.

Dental hygienist accused of molesting patient

Gabriel Cruz Medina, 47, massaged the patient's breast and touched her genital area over her clothes while she was being treated at the Western Dental center on Veterans Boulevard, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

"The dental assistant was in the prep stage of things," Wagstaffe said. "That's when the improper touching occurred."
