The agreement will allow dental offices to send attachments with electronic claims within the DENTRIX practice-management system.

A new agreement between Dentrix Dental Systems, Inc. and Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey, Inc. will allow dental offices to send attachments with electronic claims within the DENTRIX practice-management system.

Effective immediately, dental offices may include digital or scanned electronic attachments, such as X-rays, perio charts, cosmetic presentations, or other images, with their claims. This will expedite the electronic claims process by eliminating payment delays and providing payors with immediate claims information. It will also enable dental offices to use high tech-tools for digital X-rays and photos, or to create cosmetic presentations.

"The agreement between Dentrix Dental Systems and Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey demonstrates our dedicated efforts to connect providers and payors electronically," said Travis Smith, Dentrix's Manager of Payor Relations. "The ability to send attachments with electronic claims provides numerous benefits for the dentist and payor. This is expected to significantly improve processing efficiencies for both parties. We are pleased to be a key player in offering this service to more dentists."

Accepting electronic attachments will aid Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey. As the company's electronic claims volume increases, the new agreement will significantly decrease Delta's expenses associated with returning attachments to dental offices.

"Delta's goal has always been to process our claims in the most efficient and effective manner possible," said Bruce Silverman, Senior Vice President of Claims and Customer Service for Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey. "We are excited that our agreement with Dentrix will enable us to achieve this goal."
