Difficulty in finding a job as a dental hygienist in New Hampshire
Observation: New Hampshire did not provide as many responses Minnesota, for example, but the state was not at the low end. So we take it very seriously that 70% view it as being “very difficult” to get a job in New Hampshire. It’s just one percentage point below Missouri.

Observation: The percentage of New Hampshire hygienists who received a raise within the last year is 15 percentage points above the national average.
Most common hourly pay rates in New Hampshire
$32, $35, $36, $40
Observation: We’re uncertain about the low end, if rural areas are paying that amount or if employers are taking advantage of a surplus of hygienists. Overall, $36 an hour is the most common hourly rate, which fits within national averages.
Descriptions of pay arrangements based on production or commission
- 3% of production when I accomplish 5% above what substantiates my weekly pay
- Based on the amount of days I work and amount of money I spend on supplies.
- 32% of production (excluding exams) plus a portion of product purchases, such as whitening and at-home fluoride.
- I get 33% of my total production, not including doctor exams.
