Study promoting coffee drinking benefits needs more research, says dentist
New research says coffee drinkers have a lower chance of death from oral cancer, but one dentist is still not ready to recommend coffee drinking to his patients.
Recent research from the American Cancer Society states that heavy coffee drinkers may reduce their risk of dying from oral cancer by 50%, but Martin Hogan, DDS, Loyola University Health System, hesitates to give his full support.
Dr. Hogan says: "I do not recommend that my patients drink coffee. The study does suggest benefits, but I would like to see more studies done to prove this correlation."
