Boost your DentistryIQ: The iO toothbrush: A real eye-opener

Oct. 12, 2020
With its decades of experience creating and improving the brushing experience, Oral-B has outdone itself again with its new iO toothbrush. What does iO do, and is it right for your patients?

Jennifer Doobrow, DMD, self-proclaimed “perio nerd” and KOL, chats with Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz about the new iO toothbrush from Oral-B.

Among its many features is the Oral-B Test Drive. Dr. Doobrow says Test Drive is an opportunity for patients to try out the toothbrush before purchasing one. They can hold it, see how it fits them, and check out the toothbrush heads and speeds. Dr. Doobrow has found that this engages patients and leads them to take ownership of their disease.

“iO has been a real ‘eye-opener’ for us,” Dr. Doobrow says. “I notice that Oral-B just keeps improving their products, and the iO is no exception.”

The two talk about more of the new brush’s features, including taking the step beyond alerting patients when they’re brushing too hard to alerting them if they’re brushing too softly. Dr. Doobrow has found that her patients like the real-time gratification provided by iO.

Listen to Dr. Doobrow and Maragliano-Muniz’s quick discussion to find out how the iO might be right for your patients.
