Everyone Deserves to Smile makes dental care more accessible for people with disabilities

May 14, 2021
Through the Everyone Deserves to Smile campaign, you can help make dental care more accessible to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Find out how.

This year, the American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM) lost a valued member, Christine B., FAADOMWhen Chris passed, her family’s wish was for donations to be made to her favorite charity which provides support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In Chris’ honor, AADOM and the Smiles for Life Foundation developed the Everyone Deserves to Smile campaign (EDTS).

EDTS is a charitable partnership which brings together AADOMthe Smiles for Life Foundation, corporate supporters, and dental practice managers to help bridge a critical gap that exists today – access to dental care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Children and adults with intellectual disabilities are the most medically and dentally underserved population in this country and throughout the world. Access to and the ability to receive oral health services are the number one health care problem they face,” says Dr. Steven Perlman, Global Clinical Director and Founder of the Special Olympics Special Smiles.

When a dental manager joins AADOM between April 1 and June 30, 2021, up to $100 will be donated to fund special projects in support of access to dental care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. AADOM will donate $50, plus up to $50 will be donated through a matching program with our partners.

Join AADOM, share the information with a friend, or donate to the cause...because every office manager deserves to learn, and EVERYONE deserves to smile!
