The John O. Butler Company will assume all distribution and marketing rights of the PerioGlas brand of synthetic bone graft substitute beginning this month.

PerioGlas, a leading bioactive ceramic, creates an environment that accelerates the bodys own regenerative capacity no synthetic material has been shown to generate bone more rapidly. PerioGlas has been clinically proven to aid in bone regeneration and has superior handling characteristics, allowing for quick and easy preparation and placement. PerioGlas is composed of elements naturally occurring in the mineral portion of bone and is used to regenerate dental osseous defects, including periodontal tissues.

"PerioGlas is an easy-to-use and effective bone regeneration material," said Charles Dushman, director of U.S. oral care marketing for the John O. Butler Company. "We know this product will be a great addition to the other clinically proven products Butler offers, and we are pleased to help dental professionals offer patients superior treatments."

Butler will be the sole North American distributor of PerioGlas, which is licensed from USBiomaterials. Butlers agreement with USBiomaterials also calls for joint development of several new products using USBiomaterials technologies.

"We have aligned with USBiomaterials because the company has an excellent reputation for developing effective products," said Dushman. "The partnership makes sense for Butler because we are committed to providing innovative oral care solutions."
