Coronavirus impact on dental practices: Facts and fiction of COVID-19 [Video]

April 6, 2020
Dr. Scott Froum addresses some of the common questions about the coronavirus with the backing of scientific facts. With everyone traversing uncharted territory, he strives to provide dentists with some firm guidance.

Dr. Scott Froum, editorial director of DentistryIQ partner Perio-Implant-Advisory, studies everything he can about coronavirus and how dentists can approach their environments while weathering the pandemic and treating their patients for emergencies. In this new video, he discusses what he’s learned with Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz including many scientific facts he's researched. He acknowledges that much of the information being shared about COVID-19 is very confusing, and Dr. Froum strives to make sense of it for his peers. He compares the coronavirus outbreak to that HIV in the '80s, when little was known about what people were dealing with. He highly recommends the use of masks, and he also discusses the research he’s conducted regarding the use of NSAIDs and coronavirus.
