Readers of RDH magazine continued to provide insights about the companies that manufacture the products and/or services honored in the 1st annual Readers' Choice awards. The magazine’s readers recently participated in a follow-up survey where they were asked to comment more specifically on how a company’s products or services had the “most significant impact in your dental office.”
In late March 2016, the follow-up survey was conducted. Dental hygienists were asked, “Which of the following new products or services has had the most significant impact in your dental office overall?” During the survey’s sampling period, 1,740 dental hygienists participated, and the top five dental companies with the most “significant impact” products/services were identified:
- Henry Schein’s Dexis digital radiography
- Dentsply’s Cavitron ultrasonic scaling units
- Hu-Friedy’s hand instrumentation
- Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes
- Patterson Dental’s Eaglesoft practice management software.
The dental hygienists participating in the study were asked to provide insights about why these products made a significant impact on the way they practice dental hygiene.
