Pac-Dent acquires Ackuretta Technologies to expand open-system 3D printing for labs and chairside
Pac-Dent, Inc., known for its preventive care, infection control products, and Rodin 3D printing resins, has announced its acquisition of Ackuretta Technologies, a Taiwan-based company specializing in dental 3D printing hardware and software.
The move strengthens Pac-Dent’s commitment to building an open, user-friendly digital dentistry ecosystem—one that connects advanced materials, intelligent software, and validated hardware solutions for both labs and chairside workflows.
What this means for dentistry
By combining Pac-Dent’s research and development in AI-driven dental solutions with Ackuretta’s printers and ALPHA AI CAM software, the company plans to deliver smarter, more automated workflows. While full design automation is still in progress, Pac-Dent says its integration of data acquisition and workflow intelligence will help set new standards for digital dentistry.
Daniel Wang, CEO of Pac-Dent, emphasized that this acquisition supports their open-system philosophy. “By combining best-in-class materials, intelligent software, and versatile hardware, we're building the most accessible and adaptable digital dentistry platform on the market. Just as important, we're thrilled to welcome Ackuretta’s outstanding international team. Their expertise strengthens our innovation pipeline, enhances product reliability, and expands global customer support.”
Open and flexible workflows
Pac-Dent stressed that its digital ecosystem will remain open, giving clinicians and labs freedom to choose the platforms that work best for them. While Ackuretta printers will be integrated as validated hardware options, Pac-Dent will continue supporting other leading printer brands to ensure compatibility, clinical flexibility, and better long-term outcomes.
Support and service improvements
With the acquisition, North American clinicians and labs can expect:
- Dedicated front-line technical support for Ackuretta printers
- Readily available spare parts through US distribution
- A quick-start knowledge base covering setup, calibration, and validated workflows
- Training resources to help teams move quickly from installation to production
A bigger vision for digital dentistry
This acquisition is part of Pac-Dent’s broader strategy to expand digital workflows. In addition to 3D printing, the company is investing in new platforms for data acquisition, AI-driven design, and even metal printing capabilities.
Pac-Dent operates its US headquarters in Brea, California, with multiple R&D, education, and manufacturing facilities in California, Nevada, Taiwan, and China—providing the foundation to deliver innovation and reliable supply worldwide.
