CHICAGO, Illinois--Registration is open for the American Dental Association’s 152nd Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibitionto be held Oct. 10-13, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

The ADA Annual Session brings together leaders in dental practice, research, academia, and industry to present hundreds of continuing education courses in four days. In addition, the session will feature more than 500 exhibiting companies.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, PhD, will be featured Oct. 10 as the distinguished speaker. Dr. Rice serves as a member of the board of trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and is the author of “Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family, which shares how her upbringing in segregated Birmingham, Ala.--along with her strong, caring family--helped shape the course of her life.The Distinguished Speaker Series is free to everyone registered for the annual session.

The ADA Annual Session offers attendees the choice of more than 250 topical continuing education courses, with more than 50% of lecture courses offered free with registration. More than 60 hands-on workshops will be offered.

Attendees can also choose from learning opportunities such as six, live-patient courses in the “Education in the Round” learning format, and a variety of high-tech courses in the ADA’s “LOC” (Learn, Optimize, and Connect) that features dental lasers, CAD/CAM systems, and more.

The World Marketplace Exhibition, featuring more than 500 leading suppliers of dental products and services, and the Opening General Session and Distinguished Speaker Series will begin Oct. 10.

The ADA offers housing discounts at six official ADA hotels including Mandalay Bay, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Signature at MGM, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, and Luxor Las Vegas--all located on the South Strip.

In addition, discounts are available for annual session attendees who travel on United Airlines, and discounted car rental services are provided by Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and National Car Rental.

The registration fee for practicing ADA-member dentists is $75 and $25 for retired ADA-member dentists.

Nonmember dentists or graduate students who would like to check out the ADA Annual Session for the first time can attend the session for $100 instead of the regular $775 rate for non-member dentists. This special $100 rate expires Sept. 9, 2011, and is available for one-time use only.
