CHICAGO, Illinois--Hu-Friedy, a leading manufacturer of dental instruments, has announced that Friends of Hu-Friedy has surpassied the 15,000-member
mark.

Friends of Hu-Friedy, an online dental hygiene community, provides an interactive experience for the dental hygienists with opportunities to share stories, evaluate products, gain continuing education credits, and obtain insights into delivering optimal patient care.

Launched in August 2007 to share information, provide educational resources, clinical tips and more, Friends of Hu-Friedy is an online destination point for dental hygienists.

Susan Maynard, an RDH from Poquoson, Va., said that she visits the site regularly for the professional insights found there.

"I find it to be a very valuable site when researching instruments that will fill the needs of my office," Maynard said.

Michelle Walsh, an RDH from Hilliard, Ohio, said that she relies on the site's peer networking and Hu-Points instrument trial program.

"I enjoy Friends of Hu-Friedy and all the opportunities that it provides, including but not limited to, CE courses, interaction with others, and the ability to trade in points to evaluate Hu-Friedy instruments," Walsh said.

Commenting on the 15,000-member milestone, Ron Saslow, president and CEO of Hu-Friedy, said, "Friends of Hu-Friedy has great significance because it provides us with a platform to deepen our connection with the hygiene community that has been so critical to the success of our company.

"Furthermore, it illustrates something we have known for a long time--that dental hygienists are passionate about their profession, their patients and each other. Hu-Friedy is extremely proud of our heritage of advocacy for dental hygienists and is thrilled to be part of creating a unique community that is adding real value to the lives of dental professionals."
