VERSAILLES, Ohio--Midmark Corporation has announced the acquisition of European Design Inc., a leading manufacturer of premium cabinetry for health-care professions.

With headquarters in Glasgow, Ky., European Design is known for manufacturing designed cabinetry that offers the dental clinician value and improved efficiency while stainless steel bases provide the durability for demanding clinical environments.

"This truly gives Midmark the best of both worlds to present to our customers-- the unmatched durability with Midmark metal casework and the unrivaled beauty and warmth of European Design cabinetry," said Midmark president and CEO Dr. Anne Eiting Klamar. "This acquisition positions Midmark as the company in the dental market with the most complete offering of cabinets available to the dental professional."

Midmark plans to continue to manufacture and market its current line of dental casework, and will add the European Design cabinets to its complete offering of dental equipment. European Design was founded more than 18 years ago, and the company recently received industry-wide recognition when it was rated the 12th fastest growing company in the wood industry by Wood & Wood Products magazine.

European Design, which employs approximately 50 teammates, will stay in Glasgow at this time. John and Deborah Brinkerhoff, the former owners and founders of European Design, Inc., will remain with Midmark as consultants.
